Highlights

Breakfast with Professor Jerrod A. Henderson

We had an exciting breakfast with Professor Jerrod A. Henderson!

Jacob Belding: It was great meeting Prof. Henderson over breakfast – I really enjoyed learning about the work he is doing and hearing about his own story as well. Even though our areas of research might not seem related at first glance, we found common ground in our interest in clever graphical representations of high-dimensional data. And it was also great just to share a good meal with a really nice person!

Belen Sotomayor: It was a wonderful meeting where we learned that introducing kids to STEM early can make a big difference in their lives and academic journeys. We also shared our own stories, got inspired to make a positive impact in the STEM community—whether in academics or beyond!

Career Seminar: Lakshmi O’Dwyer

CBE Women organised an inspiring career seminar featuring CBE alumni, Lakshmi O’Dwyer, who talked about working at BASF and careers after graduate school.

August social recap: coffee and sweets over zoom!

CBE Women had our first event of the semester, with attendees making Dalgona coffee and chocolate-coated bananas over Zoom. The food came out well after some hiccups and it was a lot of fun connecting and doing an activity together over Zoom!
